 Web Design
A good website can be one of the most important aspects of your company's image, as it is often the customer's first point-of-contact with your products or services.

Web Design > Content Management
Web Content Management enables you to completely control the content of your finished website, without having to use the services of either the original site developer or other IT staff to update it.
Sites using Content Management are supplied as a fully-functioning custom package which allow the end user to easily update and maintain the site with minimal training.
The sites are based on a database system (using PHP & SQL technology) which allows almost unlimited expansion in terms of content.
Maintenance of the site is achieved by simply logging in to the site through a panel (which may be visible or hidden) and directly editing the pages in-situ.
Multiple (unlimited) access rights are allowed - meaning many different users can update the site if required, each with clearly defined access and modification rights. All changes can be required to be authorised by one or more superiors prior to publication if required.
Editing of the site is competely in-situ - simply navigate to the required page, click an icon and update or add text/images/content using a familiar Microsoft Word style menu bar.
Basic features of all Content Managed sites are :
- In-place editing of all content using WYSIWYG controls
- Images may be added, replaced, deleted and uploaded to the site
- Macromedia Flash content may be added to pages easily
- Pre-configured modules available as standard including Calendar, Address Book, Image Gallery, Resource Manager (for uploading files), Private Messaging Centre, Search facility, Slide Show, Administration Module.
Site data can be easily downloaded in order to backup the database and stored on local drives to ensure security in the case of a fault with your internet service provider.
Web Design > Flash Design
Macromedia Flash is well-established as the leading software tool in providing interactive multimedia solutions for the internet. Flash enables sites to display engaging and exciting content which can be viewed by over 90% of current users. Flash content can be very efficient in terms of filesize and hence download speed, and can be a very good way to liven up conventional sites.
Flash can be used from simply adding a simple animation (or video clip) to an existing site through to creating as entire interative, multimedia-based site.
Full Flash-based sites are generally best suited to those applications which require a fixed, high-impact site which will not be regularly changed - for example to promote specific new products or events, or as a fixed 'brochure' site for a company. By using Flash for the entire site, it is possible to use menu systems and provide a degree of interactivity which is not possible with conventional sites (although there are a number of drawbacks with regard to search engine page indexing, etc).
Although it is possible to include content-management into Flash-based sites, it is preferable to use a dedicated content management system generating standard HTML pages (although Flash content can be included in this) - please see the Content Management page for details.
